"Right now it's booming," Hutchinson said.
"It's running on par to (levels) before the first bombings (2002).
"It was slow for a couple of years after the bombings, but over the last two or three years it's grown by about 30 per cent each year."
Hutchinson said STC booked Indonesian holidays for about 2000 surfers in the past year. About 50 per cent of clients stay in Bali.
Most of the remainder boarded charter boats to explore the popular Mentawai Islands, off Sumatra, or travelled to Bali's eastern neighbouring islands.
This year marked a couple of milestones for Indonesian surfing. Foremost was Bali hosting its first World Championship Tour contest, the Rip Curl Pro Search, at the premier reef breaks Padang Padang and Uluwatu.

Returning Aussies drive Bali tourism to record
Bali is enjoying a resurgence in tourism, thanks partly to an increasing number of Australians rediscovering the Island of the Gods.
Australians are flocking to the resort island in droves, despite the Australian government maintaining its travel advisory warning tourists against visiting Indonesia.
The US government recently lifted its travel warning for Indonesia, saying the security climate in the country no longer warrants such a warning.
Balinese tourism operators say the time has come for Australia to follow suit.

Fears grow for British divers missing off Bali
Fears were growing last night for three British divers missing in treacherous waters off the coast of Bali since Thursday.
Kathleen Mitchinson, Charlotte Allin and James Manning have not been seen since they went to explore the waters off Komodo national park. Two other divers, one French, one Swedish, are also missing.
According to diving experts, the area where they were last spotted is among the most unpredictable and dangerous in the tropics, with fast currents capable of carrying divers far away from their boats.
